Cruciate Anastomosis

- See:
    - Arterial Development:

- Components:
    - inferolateral branch of arteria comitans nervi ischiadici inf gluteal )
    - medial femoral circumflex
    - lateral femoral circumflex
    - 1st perforating branch of profunda

- Discussion:
    - persisting distal portions of ischiadic artery become peroneal & medial inferior genicular  arteries;
    - proximal portion persists as the arteria comitans nervi ischiadici, branch of inferior gluteal artery, which lies on surface of Sciatic Nerve &
           sends branch lateral & downward to anastomose w/ lateral  and medial  femoral circumflex arteries & first perforating branch of
           (see femoral artery)
