Important Physical Properties of Calcium

- See:

      - State of Calcium in Body Fluides
- Discussion:
    - calcium salts make up major inorganic component of our skeletons;
    - calcium phosphates (secondary & tertiary) form basis of internal skeleton, & their ions circulate freely in controlled amounts w/ in our body fluids;
    - it is compatibility of these two phases (solid versus liquid) that makes the story of bone physiology intricate and interesting one;
    - least soluble of these salts is tertiary calcium phosphate, Ca3(PO4)2

Calcium flux and endogenous calcium content in isolated mammalian growth-plate chondrocytes, hyaline-cartilage chondrocytes, and hepatocytes.
