- Discussion: 
- for treatment of severe hypoglycemic reactions in diabetic patients with insufficient liver glycogen stores; 
- Adult: 0.5 - 1.0mg SQ, IM, or IV, repeated at 20 min intervals as needed; 
- administration of IV glucose is necessary if pt fails to respond to glucagon; 
- Peds: 0.03-0.1 mg/kg/dose SQ, IM, or IV repeated after 20 min prn
