- Discussion:
    - for rapid control of ventricular rate (SVT) in pts w/ atrial fib or flutter in acute setting;
    -  begin treatment with 500 ug/kg load over 1 min then 50 ug/kg/min for 4 min;
    - if inadequate response, repeat loading dose and follow w/ maintenance infusion of 100 ug/kg/min for 4 min;
    - titrate by repeating loading dose followed by increases in maintenance dose of 50 ug/kg/min for 4 min until desired heart rate is reached
