- for antianxiety agent:
- Adult: initially 5mg tid PO, may increase dosage by 5mg/day q3day prn;
- optimal daily dosage is 20-30mg;
- maxium daily dose is 60mg;
- contraindictations: avoid concurrent use of other CNS agents;
- concomitant use of MAOI may be hazardous (elevation of blood pressure)
