- For diuresis, glaucoma, alkalinization of urine;
- Is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor;
- Adult: 250-375mg IV/PO q24hr in divided doses;
- Contraindicated w/ Renal failure, hepatic failure, hyperchloremic acidosis, hyponatremia, hypokalemia, chronic noncongestive angle closure glaucoma, supra renal gland failure; and sulfahypersensitivity, watch Sodium and
- Peds: Epilepsy: 8-30 mg/kg/24hr PO in 4 DD;
- Diuretic: 5 mg/kg/24hr PO or IV; Alkalinization of urine: 5mg/kg/dose bid-tid; Glaucoma: 20-40 mg/kg/24hr PO in 4 DD
