Shoulder Arthroplasty: Aequalis System

- Discussion:
- Component Characteristics:
    - cylindrical reamers: 6.5, 9, 12, 15 mm;
    - angle of inclination:
          - 125, 130, 135, 140 deg options;
          - if inclination is between sizes choose the smaller size;
    - humeral retroversion:
          - determined from humeral neck cut;
          - use osteotome to mark a notch through the inclination guide;
          - the notch is created for the humeral stem;
    - broaching:
          - use the previously made fin to determine retroversion;
          - broach is driven in upto the marked inclination angle;
    - trial implants:
          - trial neck is slid onto the stem and tightened w/ posterior screw;
          - trial stem is then impact down into the canal;
          - head size:
                 - use calipers to determine head diameter;
                 - two thickness are available for the 50 and 52 mm heads;
    - articular offset:
          - offset can be dialed in order to preserve the posterior offset, which allows perfect cover of the transected humeral surface;
          - 8 positions are possible, which are read from the superior pole of the neck, once the component is removed
