- Femoral Alignment Rod: anterior/posterior considerations: (avoid saggital cutting errors);
- this is inserted w/ care not to insert it too posteriorly, which would have the effect of flexing the femoral component;
- if the starting point is too anterior, femoral component will be extended, and there is a tendency to oversize the
component (and femoral notching);
- in addition, anterior starting point, also leads to component in extension.
- if the starting point is too posterior, then the femoral component is slightly flexed and the comonent will be undersized;
