Preradiographic (Stage 1) of AVN

- Discussion:
    - this is the earliest clinical manifestation of the syndrome;
    - most common symptom, seen in 50% of cases, is sudden pain in groin;
    - this may be progressive, & be associated with radiation to thigh, which is often worse at night;
    - exam of hip reveals limited movement, perhaps in all directions, esp w/ medial rotation or abduction. If stage I osteonecrosis is suspected,
         then FEB tests should be carried out;

- MRI Findings

- Bone Scans
