Pre Tendinous Bands

- Discussion:
    - pretendinous bands arise from the palmar fascia as strips of tissue which extend toward the bases of the digits;
           - the neurovascular bundle will lie on either side of the pre-tendinous bands;
    - at a point distal to the distal palmar crease, the pretendinous bands partially attach to the skin;
    - in Dupuytren's contracture, the pre-tendinous bands will thicken and contract, forming the pre-tendinous cords;
           - at a point just distal to the superficial transverse palmar ligament (which is just proximal to the metacarpal heads),
                  the pretendinous cord bifurcates to form the spiral bands
