- Discussion:
- posteromedial release may not fully correct a resistant deformity;
- w/ severe deformity, consider osteotomy of the distal part of calcaneus combined with a plantar fasciotomy in addition to the
posteromedial release;
- medial opening-wedge osteotomy of calcaneus and the insertion of a wedge of bone;
- osteotomy of the calcaneus is laterally and dorsally based closing-wedge resection of the distal part of the calcaneus, avoiding both
calcaneocuboid and subtalar joints
